The actors are as good as the script.
“Sacred Games” has far more important characters than the first one.
You will be pleasantly surprised that all of them are given enough screen-time and none of them are insignificant.
First of all, we should not compare both the series. “Crime”, “Thriller”, “Action” are the common genres between these two series.
However, Mirzapur has done tremendous justice to its script and has created a different niche for itself.
I watched Sacred Games just a week before Mirzapur and after reading the bad reviews of Mirzapur, I decided not to watch it.
One of my close friends – Shashi told me to forget the reviews and watch the first episode.
I would like to quote him here: “It is far better than the number of stars given by critics.”
He was absolutely right. Sacred Games has used words from ancient Indian history (or mythology, whichever you wish to use) to tell the story.

Mirzapur doesn’t have that level of narration – yes! … but if you take that against Mirzapur, it will be a big mistake.
Every episode is sometimes full of bloodshed and sometimes there is a hint of humor that will never let you feel weak.
All the actors have done a great job. Women have been given a lot of freedom.
The documentary that Bauji keeps watching is 100% relevant to the context of the episode and the series.
Everyone knows about the talent of Pankaj Tripathi.
He doesn’t need any further introduction (neither should others), but I would like to mention Guddu (Ali Fazal) as a revolutionary character.
The way he has portrayed his obsession with body-building, his stupidity, his confidence and selfish bias; it will stun the audience.
After watching a few episodes, I started to wonder if a person can really be so crazy and so blinded in narcissism.
All he cares about is how to live in the present moment of time, nothing else.

In my humble opinion, I think every character embodies narcissism to a different extent.
Just think, how can a writer think of so many narcissistic characters. 😉
If I ever meet Guddu Bhaiya (Ali), Munna Bhaiya (Divyendu Sharma) and Bablu Bhaiya (Vikrant Massey), it would be extremely difficult to imagine them as people different from their portrayals.
I would like to quote my friend again: this series is far better than the ratings you will find on various critics’ web pages.
I wrote this first review on IMDb because I could not tolerate criticism and condemnation of a beautiful job done by these wonderful actors and writers (and all the other people involved in the project).
